Laughter by Manining Miclat

For me, this is a good poem.

This is about the hidden sadness of the speaker, who is Maningning, to the guy that he loved. The laughter here represents the girl's sadness and sorrow because the guy left her. I think in order for her to forget the sadness, she just laugh.

Servant Girl ^^

This is a story about a a servant named Rosa.in this poem It shows the normal
treatment of the masters to their servant.. Due to her suffering, she had made
imaginations that might save her. She is just waiting and dreaming
that her Angel.. (That is Pedro) will save him from her mistress' brutality.

Nick Joaquin

After winning a Dominican Order-sponsored nationwide essay competition for La Naval de Manila, the University of Santo Tomas awarded JoaquĆn an honorary Associate in Arts (A.A.) and a scholarship to St. Albert's College, the Dominican monastery in Hong Kong. However, he dropped out after only a year. Upon his return to the Philippines, he joined the Philippines Free Press, starting as a proofreader. Soon this two-time dropout was noticed for his poems, stories and plays, as well as his journalism under the pen name Quijano de Manila. His journalism was markedly both intellectual and provocative, an unknown genre in the Philippines at that time, raising the level of reportage in the country.

Carlos Bolosan

Carlos Bulosan was born in The Philippines in a rural village of Mangusmana, in the town of Binalonan, Pangasinan. There is considerable debate around his actual birthdate, as he himself used several dates, but 1911 is generally considered the most reliable answer, based on his baptismal records, but according to the late Lorenzo Duyanen Sampayan, his childhood playmate and nephew, Carlos was born on November 2, 1913. Most of his youth was spent in the country side as a farmer. It is during his youth that he and his family were economically impoverished by the rich and political elite, which would become one of the main themes of his writing. His home town is also the starting point of his famous semi-autobiographical novel, America is in the Heart.

I have chosen this picture because i always wanted to see the real world outside to explore
its beauty.
